In this full day workshop, our main activity is inspired by this fun and colourful mixed media painting called 'La Sirena' by Australian Artist, Tracy Verdugo. It features brightly coloured, floral ships on a deep blue, textured ocean with festive flags. 

We start the morning by tying and dying our t-shirts before we move on to morning tea. Then we begin our painting which will be created with acrylic paint, paint markers and crayon on a 40 x 50cm canvas.  We will learn about scale, layering and contrast, as well as acrylic painting techniques. 

We will break halfway for lunch and resume our paintings after untying and hanging out to dry our t-shirts!

Continuing with the ocean theme, we will spend the rest of the afternoon exploring surfboard designs and painting our own mini (15cm x 48cm) plywood surfboard! 

Please pack a drink, morning tea and lunch for your child and dress them in clothes suitable for messy play.
